WELCOME

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of Eurolam Retina, we are very pleased to invite you to the 2nd Macula & Retina Congress to be held 16-17 March 2012 at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Miami, Florida.

Eurolam Retina (Society of European/Latin American Retina Vitreous) consists of a group of European and Latin American specialists with the overall objective of exchanging experiences and information within the field of vitreoretinal pathologies; through the development of research projects and advancement of exchange programs between Latin America and Europe.

Eurolam participates in numerous global ophthalmologic events each year such as the European Congress of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology and European Society of Retina Specialists amongst many others.

Specifically for this Congress, Eurolam has developed a scientific program with the certification of ESASO (European School of Advanced Studies In Ophthalmology), which ensures not only the scientific quality but a university endorsement as well that is unprecedented for this type of event.

Please peruse the following pages for more information on this program and contact your local representative to secure your place for what promises to be an informative, educational meeting.

We are confident the scientific program with a distinguished international panel of speakers along with your active contributions will make this an ideal opportunity for all of us to gain valuable insights into the advancing science and treatment of neovascular AMD.

With our best regards,

Prof. Borja Corcóstegui

President Scientific Council

Prof. David Pelayes

Chairman Scientific Committee

Venue/Location

Miami is one of the youngest cities in the U.S., having been founded in 1896. In the intervening century it has become one the biggest tourist destinations in the country but it's also the home of Latin American big business, and is a US fashion capital. Now, Miami is as culturally diverse as any other big American city and offers much to see and do in some of the finest weather around. With mile upon mile of sun and sand, Miami is best known for South Beach & Miami Beach, but it should be noted that there are several separate municipalities that make up Miami as a destination. From Miami's downtown skyscrapers, to the pastel-colored Art Deco hotels of South Beach as well as several neighborhoods which are famous on their own merits - Little Havana, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables.
